SIPRI
The military expenditure database, April 2026 edition. Five measures covering 1949–2025; we use the years from 1990.
SIPRI ↗All 32 NATO members next to Russia, China and Ukraine. In dollars, as a share of GDP, and over time since 1990.
Military spending in the selected year, at current prices and market exchange rates. Inside NATO every member state is its own visible section.
Switch the measure. The GDP share carries the NATO commitments, absolute dollars show weight, per-person and government-share figures show the burden.
Constant 2024 prices strip out inflation and exchange-rate moves, so the years can be compared with each other. The selected country joins as its own line.
The time series uses one harmonised measure. Gaps are not zeroes.
| Code | Programme / chapter | Budget line | Classification | Amount |

The international charts rest on a single source, so they compare across countries and across years. Detail tables preserve national scope, year, currency and classification, so their rows should not be compared line by line across countries.
